Meet Our New Team Member: Keterly Franken

Keterly joined our Radiant Hope team in the fall of 2018 helping to manage our social media and communications, but this is her official introduction!

Hi everyone! My name is Keterly Franken. The rest of the team calls me Ket, so feel free to call me that too!

This photo is of my husband, William and I, on our wedding day. We both graduated from Messiah College in 2015 and just celebrated our one year anniversary in January 2019! I have been an oncology nurse for almost four years and I currently work at the Penn State Cancer Institute in Hershey, PA. I am also currently finishing up my Masters in Nursing Education and will graduate with that in May. I can’t wait!

Oncology has always been my passion. I love caring for cancer patients and their families, and serving them in the most difficult times of their lives. My husband and I both lost our grandmas to cancer, so we know firsthand how difficult the journey can be. Joanna and I instantly connected when we first met, and it was so exciting when she asked me to be part of their team! I am so thankful to be working alongside these beautiful women as we serve and love on those whose lives have been impacted by cancer. It is an honor to give back & care for those who are on their cancer journeys in a way that is different than nursing!

When I am not working as a nurse, doing graduate school work, or helping out with Radiant Hope, you can find me running, cooking at home, or doing random crafts. Now that it is lacrosse season, you can also find us cheering for the Messiah Men’s Lacrosse team, usually with the Dennstaedt family on the sideline! My hubby and I also love to travel & hang out with our friends, so we keep ourselves pretty busy! Also as you can see by this photo, apple picking is my favorite activity ever!
